CAMBRIDGE ARTWORKS is a community of 18 artists' studios within a former cabinet-maker's workshop near the centre of Cambridge. In addition to the studios, the building houses ARTSPACE, a light and airy gallery for hire that is used for exhibitions, workshops and taught courses. Also on the grounds is a bright blue bespoke caravan studio, which is used by visiting artists during the annual CARAVANSERAI summer residencies.
Founded in 1994, CAMBRIDGE ARTWORKS is a co-operative, with all 18 artists sharing responsibility for the day-to-day running of the studios whilst upholding the ethos of the original mission statement: ‘to provide visual artists with affordable studio space and to act as a resource within the local community’.
